Seven airports put on terror alert after intelligence warning

New Delhi: There may be terror attacks on the airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Ahmedabad, intelligence agencies said issuing an alert on Sunday.


The alert, based on intercepts, says terrorists may also hijack planes from small airstrips. Following this, authorities are beefing up security at such airstrips, said an intelligence source.
It is feared that the attackers could even use new forms of explosives.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which guards the airports, and other concerned agencies are put on high alert.
