27-year-old who fell off airport escalator dies

Mumbai: Twenty seven-year-old Siddhesh Borkar, who fell off an escalator at Mumbai airport's domestic terminal on July 29, died on Wednesday after battling his injuries for 15 days. His family alleged that he died from negligence on the part of both the airport and the airline he flew.
"I have lost my only son. Who will take care of us now," sobbed his father Rohidas Borkar. Siddhesh Borkar was the only earning member of the family, which is in deep shock at his sudden death.

Borkar was initially taken to Cooper hospital, a civic establishment, and shifted two days later to Nanavati after his condition worsened. When he showed no improvement even after 10 days of treatment, his family, who could ill afford his hospital expenses in Mumbai, decided to shift him to Goa, where they reside.
