New Delhi: India has been re-elected to the new Council of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) as one of the states making the largest contribution in facilitating global air navigation.
The elections to the 36-member Council were held at the 38th session of the Assembly of ICAO in Montreal this Tuesday, an official spokesperson said today.
The Council, ICAO's governing body, is elected for a 3-year term.
India was elected in the second category of the three-tier poll process.
The first category includes countries of chief importance in air transport, while the second one includes states making the largest contribution in providing facilities for international civil air navigation.
