Bhubaneswar: Passengers travelling by air to Bangalore have reasons to cheer about. Biju Patnaik airport authorities here on Tuesday gave permission to a regional flier to operate flights between Bhubaneswar and Bangalore.
Officials said the flier will offer cheap fare to passengers, compared to other airlines. ABC airways, the Bangalore-based airlines, will start operation from January. It has agreed to charge less than Rs 5,000 per passenger.
"We have discussed all modalities, including a parking fee of aircraft, providing offices and check-in counters, with private airlines. It will keep ready one of its flights, which will be stationed at the city airport," said airport director Sharad Kumar.
He said once the regional flier starts operation, it will compensate the withdrawal of Jet Airways' Bangalore flight from October 27.
