Indore: Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore recorded the maximum
number of air passengers flying in and out among the 15 domestic
airports operated by Airports Authority of India ( AAI). According to
Airports Authority of India (AAI) traffic news statistics for the month
of April 2014 and May 2014 traffic at Indore has been 2,02,709 much more
than Jammu that was placed second with 1,57,952 passengers and Raipur
at third place with 1,52,736 passengers.
Another domestic airport in the state, Raja Bhoj International Airport, Bhopal has been placed ninth in the category. Surprisingly domestic traffic at Raja Bhoj airport has shown a negative growth of -38.7% for the same period. The highest drop in passengers among the 15 domestic airports in the country.
Month-wise break shows traffic movement has so far been highest in May with 1,08,428 passengers moving in and out of Indore as against 94,281 in April. In May 2013, Indore had registered 1,00,112 passenger movement.
