Air Odisha ready to take off

Bhubaneswar:  The intra-state air connectivity is soon going to get a boost. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has approved the flight schedule of Air Odisha, which will fly its nine-seater plane within the state.

The regional private carrier will be able to start operations after the in-flight inspection to be done by the officials of Director General of Civil Aviation. The state government has agreed to provide a hangar for small aircraft.

"Except Biju International Patnaik airport, where the flight will be stationed, the government has assured security at other airstrips. In Bhubaneswar, AAI provides security cover. The government will also provide ambulance and fire tenders at all the destinations," said head of Air Odisha captain Santosh Pani.

According to the schedule, the flight will have three rounds from Bhubaneswar. In the morning, it will go to Jharsuguda en route Sambalpur. It will return from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar after half-an-hour halt. It will again take off for Rourkela on way to Angul in the afternoon. Then it will fly to Jeypore and head back to Bhubaneswar.
