Ahmedabad: Like Delhi and Mumbai, soon people booking flights from
Ahmedabad airport will have their boarding gate numbers printed on their
tickets. The air traffic controller (ATC) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
International Airport is planning to start parking allocation system for
regular flights operating out of the city airport.
The new system will not only save time of passengers but will also help airlines to station their flights according to the assigned gate numbers and fasten the ground operations.
"When someone books a ticket from Delhi, he is assigned terminal and gate number on the ticket itself at the time of booking whereas in case of Ahmedabad, gate numbers are assigned sometime before departure. The allocation system will help us manage the movement of flights more regularly in addition to saving time," said an ATC official.
