Panaji: The anti-narcotics task force (ANTF) has decided to constitute a 10-member team to carry out search operations on charter flights and tourists landing at the Dabolim international airport. It will be functional within 15 days.
A high-level ANTF meeting was held at the Goa police headquarters at Panaji on Friday. It was attended by representatives from the enforcement directorate, directorate of revenue intelligence, narcotics control bureau, food and drugs administration, central excise, customs, airports authority of India, central industrial security force, directorate of health services, and Goa police.
The meeting was chaired by deputy inspector general of police (DIG) V Ranganathan.
Speaking to TOI, the superintendent (SP) of the anti-narcotics cell (ANC), Karthik Kashyap, said that the ANTF meeting was called to chalk out strategies to fight the drug menace in the state. He also said that the team will comprise members of the ANC.
