Tiruchi: The long-felt demand for a canteen at the Tiruchi international airport is poised to be addressed soon.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has set in motion the process to establish a canteen at the city side of the international airport from where foreign carriers to different overseas destinations operate daily.
The contract for running the canteen by an eligible private agency would be awarded by the month-end, airport sources told The Hindu .
As the building to house the airport canteen was in place at the city side of the airport, authorities are hopeful that the eligible agency would start business operations at the earliest.
The canteen would function round-the-clock, say the sources.
The demand for a canteen at the Tiruchi airport has been in vogue for more than three years now to serve not only air travellers but also visitors arriving to either drop or receive them besides to cater to personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force and staff of AAI, airlines, and all connected agencies.
