2 flyers held with cash, gold worth Rs 1 crore

Mumbai: A passenger who had arrived from Hong Kong on Sunday was arrested by the Customs authorities at the city airport for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs 50 lakh.

The arrested passenger has been identified as Arpit Doshi.


In another case, foreign currency valued at Rs 55 lakh was seized from a Dubai-bound passenger, Abdul Shereef, who had concealed the currency in a specially created compartment beneath his check-in baggage.
