As the men flew high, their wives shook the ground

Bangalore: While their husbands flew their fighter jets under the skies, taking spectators by storm, their wives had something equally mesmerizing to offer. Whenever visitors at the aero show decided to take a break and get relief from the scorching sun, they stepped into an aesthetic stall set up by ladies of the Airforce under the banner Airforce Wives Welfare Association.

Set up right in the centre of the display area, the stall captured the real essence of the country and was mainly focused on attracting the attention of international clientele. For foreigners, it was like seeing the country in Yelahanka.

With the theme 'Make in India', the stall had a wide display of handicrafts and artistic work from across the country. In just first four days (until the afternoon), the stall recorded sales of up to Rs 10 lakh. With the weekend being open to the general public, the stall's sales are expected to double.
