Bengaluru Can Be a Major Aerotropolis: Report

Bengaluru: Bengaluru has all the requisites to become a major aerotropolis, according to a report by Vestian Global Workplace Services.

A detailed analysis of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and the area under the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru Airport Area Planning Authority (BIAAPA) shows that the airport’s strategic location, regional connectivity and real estate demand support the city’s evolution into a leading aerotropolis in the region.

An aerotropolis is a form of urban development with an airport city at the centre and aviation-linked businesses agglomerated around it.

The report said KIA is advantageously located within the region with the shortest distance to all other airports in South India.
