Margao: Former PWD minister Churchill Alemao on Friday questioned the silence of Salcete MLAs such as RDA minister Francisco 'Mickky' Pacheco, fisheries minister Avertano Furtado, Benaulim MLA Caetano 'Caitu' Silva and Velim MLA Benjamin Silva for initially voicing their protest over the proposed Mopa international airport but ultimately failing to be present at the public hearing on February 1.
Churchill has "kept his word" and had attended the public hearing after filing his objections to the "false, manipulated environmental impact assessment (EIA) report that had been submitted to the government with claims of a Bengal fox being spotted in the vicinity despite this species being non-existent in our state".
