Faulty position of airport gate poses danger

Thiruvananthapuram:  The position of the second gate of the international terminal of Thiruvananthapuram airport is increasingly becoming a matter of concern for motorists. TRDCL, the implementing agency of City Roads Improvement Project ( Crip), has already raised objection over the gate's position.

Although vehicles exiting through the gate that opens to the Chackai-Shanghumugham road should take the one-way to the left so that it can take a U-turn a few metres ahead, most drivers prefer going right which poses high risk for collisions.
Local residents said drivers ignore the one-way to gain easy access to main road when they should actually be taking the turn near KSEB Junction. TRDCL has sent a letter to the airport authorities citing that the gate has been positioned incorrectly.
