Panaji: Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said his ministry has a proposal to set up a helicopter assembly line project in Goa. Providing no details and repeatedly stressing "it is just a proposal", he said the project is in the preliminary stage and would be proceeded with only after a feasibility study is done.
Parrikar was speaking at the Goa Investment Summit 2015-A Prelude, at Dona Paula, on the topic, 'vision, mission and objectives of the government towards facilitating investment in Goa'.
Calling the Goa investment policy—notified in 2014, during his stint as the state's chief minister—as one of the best when compared to other states, he said, "Goa is an investment-friendly state, but, at the same time, is also environment-sensitive. Besides, another constraint is the availability of land."
