Job racket accused held at Mumbai airport

Coimbatore: After intensive search for a couple of years, District Crime Branch nabbed Sanjay Kumar (31), of Mettupalayam, for cheating many job aspirants to the tune of Rs. 22.43 lakh by promising them jobs in London. The police said that he was arrested at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, when he returned from London two days ago.


According to the police, Santhana Krishnan of Mettupalayam lodged a complaint with them a couple of years ago alleging that Sanjay Kumar and his parents Rajkumar (55) and Pushpalatha (47) of Mettupalayam and two others got Rs. six lakh from him and cheated him by not getting a job and refusing to return his money.

More complaints were received by the police that the said persons had cheated them in a similar manner from 2009 to 2011. The DCB police registered a case against the accused under sections 420 (cheating), 120B (criminal conspiracy, 506(ii) (criminal intimidation) and 294B (using abusive language) of the IPC.
