Mumbai: The Mumbai airport aims to grow its passenger traffic to 50 million by 2019, Mumbai International Airport Ltd's chief executive officer Rajeev Jain said today.
"We will reach 36 million passenger figure in FY15 and have registered 11% growth," Jain said addressing participants at a Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation event today.
The airport plans to grow its cargo and duty free sale revenue. "Duty free sales now make up 53% of all non aeronautical revenue at the airport's new T2 terminal and we want double its share," he said.
MIAL is a joint venture of GVK group and Airport Authority of India and is executing the Mumbai airport modernisation project.
Jain said a lack of regulatory clarity was impacting investor interest in airport sector and said government should have an uniform policy for all upcoming projects.
