Saifai airport gears up for VVIP line-up at Tej’s tilak

Lucknow: The airspace over Saifai, the native village of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, may well turn out to be the busiest in domestic circuit on Saturday when a host of political top guns, industrialists and B-town celebrities fly down to attend the 'tilak' ceremony of Mulayam's grandnephew Tej Pratap Yadav and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's youngest daughter, Raj Laxmi.

According to well-informed sources in the state government, around a dozen aircraft and choppers are expected to fly into Saifai with VVIPs on board. While flight movement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be taken care of by the Indian Air Force, the other dignitaries, including ministers in Akhilesh Yadav cabinet are expected to come by state plane and choppers. Various cine artistes like Amitabh Bachchan and industrialists like Anil Ambani too are likely to take an aerial route to reach Saifai.

District administration officials in Saifai confirmed that already half a dozen permissions for landing of choppers and aircraft have been received. More flight plans are likely to reach the air traffic control (ATC) at Saifai by Saturday.
