Srilankan hospitalised after swallowing 700 gms gold

Nedumbassery: A native of Srilanka was arrested at the Nedumbassery Airport for swallowing 700 grams of gold. He was admitted at the Ernakulam Cooperative Medical College Hospital Monday morning after his condition turned worse when efforts were taken to take out the gold bars.


The arrested has been identified as Muhammed Suvine. He landed here Saturday evening in the Srilankan Airways. The authorities decided to conduct an inspection after a big chain weighing 50 gms was found on his neck.  On examination, a bill of 700 grms was found in his pocket.
