A high-level three-member team of officials from the Airports Authority of India and the Civil Aviation Ministry, along with senior officials of the Infrastructure Development Department of the State government, inspected the half-complete Gulbarga Airport at Srinivas Saradagi village on the outskirts of Kalaburagi on Wednesday.
Official sources said here on Wednesday that the visit was based on a request by the department to visit the airport and give a detailed report of the remaining work to be completed and its estimated cost.
The team consisted of Executive Director of the authority T.S. Chandramouli, General Manager of Goa Airport M.N.N. Rao, Deputy General Manager of the Goa Airport V.S. Krishna and the officials of the department.
The authority and the ministry has made it clear that the Central government would not provide any funds for completing the incomplete work and the entire cost of the construction of the remaining works in the airport would be borne by the State government.
