Chandigarh airport ranked no.8 in country by private agency

Chandigarh: Although services of international flights at the local airport continue to elude passengers, a survey conducted by an independent agency, Airport Services Quality (ASQ), has awarded rank 8 to the city airport in India and 41 in the world. ASQ assessed passenger facilities across 254 airports around the world.

The survey records a passenger’s immediate appraisal from check-in through departure at the gate on 34 key service indicators and eight major categories including access, check-in, security, airport facilities, food and beverage, retail and more.
Speaking to Newsline, J S Balhara, Director, Airport Authority of India, Chandigarh, said, “In the recent period efforts had been made by the staff to uplift the airport facilities by adding more baggage trolleys, seats in waiting areas, upgrading the quality of lounges and waiting areas and keeping sanitised toilets for giving out quality services.”
