Shimla: Himachal Pradesh high court on Wednesday directed Air India to file detailed reply on a petition challenging suspension of flights from Jubbarhatti airport in Shimla since September 2012. The court has now posted the matter for March 30.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a petition filed by Paras Dhaulta, contending that though the government is spending crores of rupees on the upkeep and maintenance of the airport, no flight is operating to and from Shimla airport since September 2012, which has made it a virtual white elephant.
