The Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned an amount of Rs 50 crore for the Nabakalebar Rath Yatra Festival in Puri, Odisha. Announcing this at a high-level meeting of officials in Bhubaneswar on March 21, the Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Culture (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Dr Mahesh Sharma said the funds have been sanctioned under the newly launched scheme ‘PRASAD’ of the Ministry of Tourism. The Union Petroleum Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan; Tourism and Culture Minister of Orissa, Ashok Chandra Panda, and Chief Secretary of Orissa were among those present at the meeting. Dr Sharma said that a museum is being set up by the Ministry of Culture at Lalitgiri.
