Surat inhabitants launch postcard campaign for more flights

Surat: Every day at least 30 postcards are dispatched from the city to Union minister for civil aviation, Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pasupathi by the residents of Diamond City demanding air connectivity from Surat to various important destinations across the country. This is part of the campaign started by the We Want Working Airport at Surat (WWWAS) group.

In the last 18 months, around 3,500 postcards have been dispatched to the Union minister by people from different walks of life.

The postcard campaign was started by the members of WWWAS under 'suratwants2fly' movement, which commenced immediately after SpiceJet permanently withdrew its services from the Surat sector following the buffalo- hit incident on November 6, 2014.
