Kochi: Officials of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit at the Cochin International airport here on Sunday seized about 400 grams of gold, 11 cell phones and SD cards valued at Rs.15 lakh from two passengers who landed here from Colombo. The metal, in the form of eight gold bars, were concealed in their rectum.
The accused, identified as Abdullah and Muhammed Hussain, both hailing from Tamil Nadu, had landed here by a Sri Lankan Airlines flight from Colombo and were intercepted at the exit gate of the arrival hall while attempting to escape through the green channel.
