Kochi: Customs officers seized 1.3 kg of gold valued at Rs.30 lakh from a passenger who reached the Cochin international airport at Nedumbassery from Doha on Sunday.
Mustafa Hajaluddin from Ramnad, Tamil Nadu, was arrested along with three other passengers who joined him during the Air India Express flight’s domestic leg from Karipur to Nedumbassery.
Mr. Hajaluddin, who brought the gold from Doha, was to hand it over to Jameel Mohammed, Amjed Ali Amanulla, and Ahamed Gani Shahul Hameed, who boarded the flight from Karipur.
