Kozhikode: The rural police, on Monday, recorded the arrest of Purakkeyilloth Basheer (46) on charges of murdering a 45-year-old woman. Nalomkodu Sainaba, a resident of Ayancheri, was found dead at her residence on Thursday evening.
Basheer, a relative of Sainaba, was taken into custody from Karipur airport.
The accused, according to the police, escaped to Qatar after committing the crime. The man had also stolen gold ornaments and money from the victim. Bahseer is a relative of Sainaba's sister-in-law.
The accused was brought back to Kozhikode with the help of non-resident Keralites in Qatar, said the police.
