Tiruchi: The Tiruchirapalli City Corporation Council on Friday paid homage to the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam making a plea for naming the Tiruchi Airport after him.
A meeting of the corporation council, scheduled for the day, was adjourned sine die without transacting any business as a mark of respect to Abdul Kalam.
Earlier, councillors, cutting across party lines, paid glowing tributes to Kalam.
