Vasco: The pilot of an Air Asia flight had to hit the emergency brakes after spotting a stray dog on the runway at Dabolim International Airport on Thursday. The plane was headed for Bangalore and had 113 passengers on board.
According to sources, at around 3.10 pm, the pilot took the aircraft onto the runway and started to build speed for the take-off. Upon noticing the dog frolicking in the plane’s path, the alert pilot applied the emergency brakes and stopped the aircraft before it could hit the dog. The abrupt halt sparked panic amongst the passengers.
