AirAsia India looks to treble employee headcount to 2, 500 over next 12 months

New Delhi: Low cost carrier, AirAsia India, is planning to more than treble its employee headcount from current 800 to about 2,500 over the next 12 months.
The expansion in the employee base comes from the Indo-Malaysian airline's plan to add eight new aircraft in the next year in India. The airline -- a three-way joint venture with AirAsia Berhard, Tata Sons and Telestra Tradeplace -- has a fleet of six aircraft.

"The next phase for AirAsia India is growth," AirAsia India, Mittu Chandilya, managing director & chief executive told ET.
"We are not interested in degrees or work experience in the aviation industry. We hire on attitude and life experience. We would be glad to absorb talent with the ability to question and give innovative ideas," he said.
