Ranchi: Travellers from Ranchi got a new year bonanza from Go Air with the airline announcing that it will introduce a direct flight to Bengaluru from March 27. Currently, only Indigo operates a connecting flight to serve travellers to Bengaluru via Kolkata.
"Go Air is scheduled to start a direct flight to Bengaluru from Ranchi from March. The flight will serve Bengaluru-Patna-Ranchi sector. The flight will take off from Ranchi airport daily at 2pm and arrive at Bengaluru airport at 6pm. The returning flight will arrive in Ranchi via Patna," an airline source said.
Go Air will be operating an Airbus 300 with seating capacity of 180 passengers on this sector. The direct flight to Bangalore will make lives much easier for students pursuing higher studies in educational institutions in Karnataka. It will also help businesspersons and government officials planning a trip to Bengaluru.
"Go Air has recognized the importance of Ranchi in this sector since there is a lot of traffic from Ranchi to Bengaluru primarily generated by student migration and businessmen. We hope Go Air will be able to provide a viable alternative to these passengers who are looking forward to cut their travel time by taking a direct flight," source said.
