Foreign currencies seized at RGIA

Hyderabad: The officials of the Directorate of Revenue have seized foreign currencies worth Rs 1.19 crore from an passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Friday.

Based on specific intelligence, the official intercepted an air passenger who attempted to board an Air Arabia flight (G9 459) to go to Sharjah in an early morning flight on Friday.
The passenger by then had cleared the immigration and security check when the officials stopped him.
On examination of the baggage, foreign currencies were found to be deftly concealed among clothes inside the bags.
