New Delhi: Airlines in India registered another good month in 2015 by carrying 19.71 per cent more passengers during the month of December compared to the same month last year. A higher growth in passenger resulted in airlines flying with over 75 per cent seats full on every flight that took off in December, shows the DGCA data. IndiGo remained the largest carrier in the domestic market by flying 35.9 per cent of the total passengers flying during the month of December. The market leader was followed by the Jet group that flew 21.2 per cent of the total passengers flown during the month.

SpiceJet continued its number one position in terms of load factors - measure of number of seats filled every flight - by flying its planes with 92.1 per cent seats full. SpiceJet was followed by the market leader IndiGo that filled 88.5 per cent of its seats per flight during the month.
Vistara further improved its load factors during the month of December by flying its planes with 148 seats, 77.6 per cent full - best ever since its launch. Air India also improved its load factors remarkably by carrying planes with 86.7 per cent seats full.
