Kingfisher Airlines to pay Rs 30,000

Chandigarh: Finding Kingfisher Airlines grossly deficient of services, the UT Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has directed the airline to pay Rs 20,000 compensation to the complainants and Rs 10,000 as litigation costs.
The airlines has also been directed to refund Rs 53,000 to the complainants, being the price of air tickets of the cancelled flight.

Dr Brij Gupta and his wife Prem Piari, filed a complaint against Kingfisher Airlines alleging that they got air tickets booked from Delhi to London for March 7, 2012,and return from London to Delhi for July 9, 2012.
The complainants said after booking of the tickets, when they were in England on April 10, 2012, they were informed by Kingfisher Airlines that it had stopped operations and bookings had been cancelled and the complainants were advised to apply for refund for unused portion of the tickets.
