Around 40 international passengers use e-TV facility daily

Amritsar: The Union Government’s electronic-Tourist Visa (e-TV) facility at Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport here has brought favourable results for international passengers alighting here. Between 30 and 40 international passengers are using the facility daily.
The government had granted e-visa facility to nationals of certain countries at selected airports in the country in the middle of last year.

With this facility, the holy city joined the elite club of 16 airports in the country which have the e-visa facility at the entry points to India.
The AAI officials here have put up four separate counters and also installed signages to guide tourists.
The AAI is providing infrastructure and logistics while the Immigration Department is providing the facility. As per the e-visa facility, upon arrival, tourists reaching the arrival lounge without a visa are segregated from the rest of the passengers. They would then move to the four counters to obtain the e-TV facility.
