HAL gives nod to GoAir for diverting flights to Nashik airport

Nashik: The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has given its nod to the proposal of private airline operator GoAir for diversion of flights at Ozar airport, near Nashik, as an alternate to Mumbai airport.
An agreement between the GoAir and HAL is to be signed shortly. The company will be able to use the Ozar airport, 20km from Nashik city, for diversion of flights thereafter.

Speaking to TOI, a senior official from GoAir said, "We have received an approval from the HAL for diversion of flights. We had submitted the proposal in this connection around four-five months back and we have several meetings with the HAL on the issue. Finally, the HAL has given its nod and now we are waiting for signing an agreement with the company for the purpose." He added, "We will use Ozar airport for diversion of flights as an alternate to the Mumbai airport.
He added, "If the aircraft flying towards Mumbai from Delhi and it is unable to land in Mumbai airport terminal due to some technical reasons or due to heavy air traffic, then we will be able to divert flight to Nashik airport terminal."
