'Resist Airliners' Bid to Fleece Passengers'

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Congress (M) has flayed the airline companies for fleecing Keralite passengers in the Gulf region by charging exorbitant fares even before the commencement of summer vacation.

“Signs of rampant exploitation have surfaced without fail this year as well. The ticket fare for the months of July and August bookings have already  been doubled,” party state general secretary Joseph M Puthuserry said.

“Both the Air India Express and private air carriers have increased the fare. As days progress, the daylight loot by airline companies will peak up to eight times than the normal fare, going by the experience in the past few years. Attempts to fleece Malayalees should be resisted at any cost,” he said.

“The passengers from  Kerala are the most affected,” the former MLA said citing that the fares from Delhi and Mumbai are not raised as that from Kerala. He said that there was no justification for such  discrimination.
