Fermont, California: Almost 80 individuals from the Indian travel agents fraternity of Northern California gathered at the Bombay Garden restaurant here Jan. 20 to bid a fond farewell to Ferdoas Nagarvala, head of Air India’s operations in the Western United States.
Nagarvala officially announced his retirement last month, shortly after Air India had announced the launch of direct flights from San Francisco to New Delhi on Dec. 3, 2015.
Nagarvala served as head of Air India’s operations for the Western United States for almost 40 years before announcing his retirement. The farewell event was organized by Sandeep Talwar and Deepak Vohra of VIP Travels.
“On behalf of all the Indian travel agents in California, I would like to let you know that we are going to miss your presence,” Talwar said in his brief speech. “You were the face of Air India on the West Coast, and your infectious smile used to relieve the stress in all the people around you,” Talwar stated.
