Indore: Authorities at Devi Ahilya Holkar Airport in Indore have re-scheduled the re-carpeting work of the runway to prevent change in flight timings. The work, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, will be done at night hours.
Earlier the authorities had decided to do the work in morning hours which would have affected over 15 flights.
The development came after airline companies refused to change their schedule. "The airline companies expressed their inability to change their schedule. As such, we decided to do the work at night," said airport director Manoj Chansoria.
The airport authorities had earlier decided to do the work from 6am till noon. This would have affected the operations of the flights connecting Indore to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Pune, Raipur and Nagpur. The work would now begin at 10pm and would continue till early morning.
