Delhi: The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said that the Ministry of Civil Aviation has had a comprehensive skill gap analysis in the civil aviation sector and to formulate a road map.
The draft report has identified possible skill requirements in areas such as airport, airlines, MRO (maintenance, repair and operations), cargo and ground handling. Draft Report indicates that by 2035, the Indian Civil Aviation sector (across the study segments of Airport, Airlines, Cargo, MRO and Ground Handling) would employ 0.8 to 1 million personnel directly and another 3 million indirectly (for 1 direct job about 3.5 indirect jobs are created), after factoring in the likely improvements in economic output and labour productivity.
