Taj Safaris, a division of Taj Group that owns and manages wilderness lodges, is hopeful of achieving faster growth and expansion momentum with the opening of the first jungle lodge outside India, at Chitwan National Park in Nepal. ‘Meghauli Serai’ at Chitwan National Park is the fifth jungle lodge from Taj Safaris stable, the rest being in India at places like Pench, Panna, Kanha and Bandhavgarh.
Talking to TravelBiz Monitor on the sidelines of a launch party organised to announce the opening of Meghauli Serai, Mridula Tangirala, Associate Vice President- Safaris Operations, Taj Group said that they are "constantly looking at further opportunities" both in India and South East Asia for the Safari business. "Our company Board has asked us to come up expansion plans, which is currently under discussion. But I can definitely say that the pace of growth will be faster going forward," she said.
