New Delhi: Many airlines including Spice Jet and Air India announced discounted fares on Tuesday to attract maximum flyers especially during the calm travel season. With its “Monsoon Sale” from August 9 to 15, the national flagship airlines, Air India announced low fares starting from Rs. 1,199 for one way travel, inclusive of all services and Rs 15,999 on domestic and international sector respectively for the economy class.
The offer can be availed for travel between August 22 and September 30 for 250 domestic sectors while it is between September 15 and December 15 for international sectors.
Apart from Air India, budget carrier Spice Jet unveiled the Great Independence Day sale by offering the one-way base fare price of Rs 399, exclusive of taxes and surcharge, for pre-decided destinations. The Low Cost Carrier (LCC) had said that the launch of the ticket-sale will be open till August 11, 12:00 am. Besides Spicejet, another LCC Indigo also announced low air fares starting from Rs 806 for domestic travel. In an attempt to stimulate demand and increase the number of buyers during the off-seasons, the airlines is expecting better results from the discounted fairs.
