Now, fly to Sikri after a boat ride at Taj

Agra: The Tourism Guild of Agra has put forward a proposal for playing boats in Yamuna at Taj Mahal. According to the proposal, the association of hotel and emporium owners has suggested boat rides from Dashera Ghat near Taj's east gate to Egyarah Sheedi, located 1.5 km away, between the months of October and March.
The state tourism department said that the district administration has sought a detailed report in this regard. Additionally, the body has also proposed a 20-minute helicopter ride from Taj Mahal to Fatehpur Sikri. Talking to TOI, Rajiv Saxena, secretary of the guild, said, "We have given a proposal to the district magistrate.
He has asked for a comprehensive proposal which includes timings, the area where it will run and what safety measure would be in place and the kind of boats that would be used."
Saxena added that the guild would now look for a suitable vendor to run this project. The administration has assured to provide all support to make this venture a success.
"The aim of the project is to make a visit to the city an enjoyable experience. Taj Mahal is the perfect setting for this project. We are hopeful that many tourists would take to this. In terms of arrangements to be made in Yamuna, there is not much to be done. We just have to build a jetty at the beginning and ending of the boat ride," he added.
