Mumbai: Maharashtra government has offered 157 acres of land in Palghar district near to a private company to produce its indigenously designed 20-seater commercial aircraft.
A 6-seater aircraft developed by Captain Amol Yadav on the terrace of his building in suburban Kandivali was the centre of attraction at the 'Make In India Week' held at the Bandra-Kurla Complex here in February.
The aircraft has been designed and developed by Thrust Aircraft Pvt Ltd floated by Yadav.
Speaking to reporters here, Managing Director of Thrust Aircraft Rashmikant Yadav claimed, "If I could get finance and land, I am ready to start (20-seater) aircraft manufacturing from November and in about year's time, by December 2018, we would be ready with four such aircraft."
The prototype would be ready in a year, he added.
A senior government official said the Palghar district collector's office had sent a report, recommending that Yadav be allotted 157 acres of land near Kelve station.
