Ahmedabad: Gujarat State Export Corporation (GSEC) Aviation in association with Air Odisha, a non-scheduled operator, is set to launch flights from Ahmedabad to Indore from October 14. Bookings for the flights are open from Monday onwards. In addition to Indore, there will also be flights from Ahmedabad to Bhopal via Indore. GSEC Aviation has said the flights will run three days a week -- every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
To begin with, an 8-seater aircraft with business class seating and services will be launched. "We will increase the frequency of flights, once the load factor and demand increases," said Shaishav Shah, director, GSEC Aviation.
The airline also plans to begin flights to Shirdi from the first week of November. "The airport will be operational by the first week of November, and therefore, we'll start our operations at the same time," said Shaishav Shah, director, GSEC Aviation. Not only GSEC Aviation, but Surat-based Ventura AirConnect also has spoken of starting flights on the Surat-Shirdi-Surat sector, later this year.
GSEC Aviation is also eyeing intra-state connectivity in Madhya Pradesh with to and fro flights between Indore and Bhopal. Even the state-owned airline, Air India, had made an announcement in August to make Ahmedabad-Indore flights operational. The flights will operate on the Bhopal-Indore-Ahmadabad sector thrice a week, as announced, and is likely to start in winter.
