More flights from Singapore for Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkatta

Singapore's Changi Airport will add about 90 new flights a week this year to 10 Asian cities including Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkatta, a media report said today.

With these additional fights, Changi Airport will be able to offer more than 8,000 weekly one-way seats to popular Asian cities such as Dalian, Fuzhou and Xiamen in China, Luang Prabang in Laos, Yangon in Myanmar and Cebu in the Philippines.

About two-thirds of the capacity growth is on routes to China and India, Changi Airport Group said.

With these new services, the airport's weekly scheduled flights are expected to cross a record of more than 7,000.

The numbers are based on scheduled pre-filed by carriers for the Northern Winter season which started last week and ends in March next year.
