Mumbai: From Thursday, passengers arriving at the domestic airport can avail of the automated prepaid taxi receipt system to reach their destinations.
The regional transport office (RTO), with help from the airport police and traffic police, is reviving the transparent automated system for the convenience of passengers. The system was launched on a pilot basis in April, but was halted following protests by a few taxi unions and complaints from passengers about fare refusals and fleecing. TOI had highlighted this problem and stressed the need for a transparent system.
Explaining the system, a senior RTO official said, "The airport police supported the RTO in reintroducing the system.
