Mumbai: A hoax hijack threat call delayed a Jet Airways flight and caused some tense moments Tuesday afternoon for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) that guards the airport.
A Mumbai-Diu-Porbander flight took off from the city airport at 1 pm. Around 1.50 pm, the CISF team at the airport received information from the Gujarat police that there was a threat call for the flight.
Around 2.20 pm, the flight landed at Diu airport. As the threat alert had been conveyed to the Diu airport, passengers had to undergo physical checks there. Even cabin bags and registered luggage were checked again, delaying the flight by over two hours.
“There was nothing objectionable found in the possession of any passenger and the hijack threat was found to be a hoax,” said CISF officials.
