Mumbai: A trial court in Mumbai on Friday directed Kingfisher Airlines chairman Vijay Mallya to submit a detailed itinerary of his forthcoming overseas travel, 48 hours in advance. The court of chief metropolitan magistrate posted to February 4 a service tax default case filed against the airline, Mallya and other honchos of the grounded carrier. Sarika Shah, the assistant commissioner of service tax, had filed the criminal case alleging evasion of service tax dues amounting to Rs 32.68 crore for the period of April 2011-March 2012.
Mallya was present at the Esplanade Court on Friday. The court had on December 12, 2014 directed him and the airline's CEO, Sanjay Aggarwal, to appear on Friday. While Mallya arrived in the morning and left around 2pm, Aggarwal didn't turn up, prompting the court to slap a penalty on him. The court directed them to remain present on February 4.
