The organisers of Aero India may be livid with the bad publicity the event got over the mid-air accident involving two Flying Bulls aircraft, but pilots performing at the show are said to have applauded the team’s crew, led by 66-year-old Radka Machova.
Two XA 42 aircraft flown by the aerobatics team from the Czech Republic brushed against each other on day two of the air show. But the experienced crew managed to land the aircraft safely. “All the pilots clapped for me and the team for landing the plane after the brush,” Radka told Express.
She said the collision was the result of the aircraft losing lift and power.
The Flying Bulls, one of the biggest attractions of Aero India, has been a regular and popular feature at the event since 2011. The team performs several high-risk manoeuvres, including the Inverted Climb, Inverted Half-loop, Wing-over and Double Mirror.
